Of course expensive closeup lenses are best for closeup photography.But I just cannot afford the best.Fortunately, the Opteka closeup lens set is a reasonable compromise.Most of closeup photo sharpness is achieved by keeping the camera steady and properly focused.
A front element closeup lens set has one thing clearly in its favor: using one, two, or more in tandem, does not reduce the amount of light coming through the lens.That means higher shutter speeds and/or greater depth of field is available. And with a single adapter I am able to use these lenses on several different focal length lenses in my collection.All this gives me lots of options when shooting closeup.I can use telephoto, zoom lenses, and even fish eye lenses with front element lenses.
Most important to this review is that the Opteca lens set produces as sharp an image as any other front elements closeup lenses I have ever tried.
